چکیده

It well known that the Pontryagin maximum principle is a necessary optimality condition for control problems. For linear control problems, it is also a sufficient condition, but for a nonlinear control problems in common form, it is not. We found a class of nonlinear control problems for which the Pontryagin maximum principle is also a sufficient optimality condition. This is a class of problems of moving a system into the zero state with minimization of a nonnegative integral functional in control. Two particular cases of these problems are the problems of minimization of resources or energy consumption.

The Pontryagin Maximum Principle and Transversality Conditions for a Class of Optimal Control Problems with Infinite Time Horizons

This paper suggests some further developments in the theory of first-order necessary optimality conditions for problems of optimal control with infinite time horizons. We describe an approximation technique involving auxiliary finite-horizon optimal control problems and use it to prove new versions of the Pontryagin maximum principle. Special attention is paid to the behavior of the adjoint var...

First- and Second-Order Optimality Conditions for a Class of Optimal Control Problems with Quasilinear Elliptic Equations

A class of optimal control problems for quasilinear elliptic equations is considered, where the coefficients of the elliptic differential operator depend on the state function. Firstand second-order optimality conditions are discussed for an associated control-constrained optimal control problem. Main emphasis is laid on second-order sufficient optimality conditions. To this aim, the regularity...

Lipschitzian Regularity of the Minimizing Trajectories for Nonlinear Optimal Control Problems

We consider the Lagrange problem of optimal control with unrestricted controls and address the question: under what conditions we can assure optimal controls are bounded? This question is related to the one of Lipschitzian regularity of optimal trajectories, and the answer to it is crucial for closing the gap between the conditions arising in the existence theory and necessary optimality condit...

New optimality conditions for nonsmooth control problems

This work considers nonsmooth optimal control problems and provides two new sufficient conditions of optimality. The first condition involves the Lagrange multipliers while the second does not. We show that under the first new condition all processes satisfying the Pontryagin Maximum Principle (called MP-processes) are optimal. Conversely, we prove that optimal control problems in which every M...

Neumann Boundary Control of Hyperbolic Equations with Pointwise State Constraints

We consider optimal control problems for hyperbolic equations with controls in Neumann boundary conditions with pointwise constraints on the control and state functions. Focusing on the multidimensional wave equation with a nonlinear term, we derive new necessary optimality conditions in the form of a pointwise Pontryagin Maximum Principle for the state-constrained problem under consideration. ...
